Father’s Day 2012
Today is Father’s Day.
The day to hang out at the lake, grill manly meat, and for the kids to mow the lawn while Dad rests in the hammock with the beverage of his choice.
- If you’re a father, congratulations!
- If you live with a father, cater to him.
- If you have a father, call him.
- If you’ve lost your father, remember him.
- Try to find a moment sometime during the day to say a prayer for the children who don’t have a father to grill for. (Yes, that was a bit of a Jesus Juke. Sorry about that. Back to the grill with you, now!)
Happy Father’s Day!!

About Christine
I am a writer, a project manager, and a corporate refugee with a heart for orphans around the world. My two daughters were adopted from Ukraine at ages 12 and 14. I post about writing, chasing dreams, and making a difference in the world, and sometimes I share fun snippets of fiction in-progress.
Unfortunately, my scheduled had me working a 16 hour shift on Father’s Day. However, the all female staff that I purchased flowers for on Mother’s Day repaid the gesture by letting me leave early enough to put the boys to bed last night.
Got a couple of hand-made cards, too, which I will cherish forever!
Thanks for the Dad’s Day post, Christine!
