History

Welcome to Fiction Friday.  For the past few Fridays I’ve shared with y’all a glimpse into the mind of Zach the Zombie and some of his friends.  Today, I wanted to share a little bit about the early days. You know the drill–this is only very minimally edited, so grace and forgiveness, please…no red pens!  🙂 When the Rot started, everyone kind of freaked out. Some people sought out doctors and nurses.  Some of them tried to help, but they began to rot too.  They couldn’t explain it any more than any of the wise Priests, or the Shaman, or the […]

Relax

I need this vacation more than I know.  But instead of relaxing and enjoying it, I’m catching up on lots of things that had fallen behind. So…no brilliant, insightful blog post today.  Just a couple images that we’ve captured so far.   * * * By the way…those of you who subscribe via email should see a big change today–I just switched email delivery providers.  Starting tomorrow morning, your new email should look a little more like the site, and should give you some better options for changing your subscription. Let me know if you see any weirdness? And if […]

We took some vacations that were pretty intense, like England in late September, 2001 (yes, a week after 9/11).  We took some vacations that were more laid back, like a completely unscheduled week on Edisto Island, SC.  And we took a couple live-aboard dive boat vacations.  Eat, sleep, scuba-dive.  Bliss. But we’re learning that vacations with the girls are different. First, trips with kids are just different.  That’s kind of a given.  Trips with teens are a different kind of […]

The Bad Seeds

Welcome to Fiction Friday.  As you can tell, this is shaping up to be a character-driven zombie story, and for the past few Fridays I’ve shared with y’all a glimpse into the mind of Zach the Zombie. You know the drill–this is only very minimally edited, so grace and forgiveness, please…no red pens!  🙂 Scott and Kennath stumbled around the corner and lurched down the road.  Everyone stayed clear of them.  We always did. They had Brain Rot. Overall, our little community is pretty peaceful.  We all mostly keep to ourselves, go about our business.  We work together when we […]
