Adoption Found Us

I am really horrible on camera, but Scott Amstutz did a great job of making me look slightly less idiotic than I really am…

And you can meet Mark!

      Thanks, Dean!!

  2. Great video! I have some good friends going through adoption right now, and their road has been so hard. But, it is amazing to see God’s timing! It’s always better than ours. I love your story, and can’t wait to reconnect with you at Quitter!

Tammy, please let your friends know that they’re not in it alone, and they’re in my prayers. There are so many variables and risks and bumps in the road–so many days when we just sat and cried over things that were out of our control. We were blessed that both of our adoptions were smooth, relatively speaking. Several of our friends, too, have hit huge obstacles and roadblocks. In the end, God is faithful, and his plan for each of is is better than any of us can imagine, but it’s incredibly hard to see it when we’re in the storm, that’s for sure. Can’t wait to see you Friday!

Loved watching your video! I love being able to read your blog everyday again. :-) Not only are you an amazing writer but I am so happy to know such amazing people who have been so blessed to have two wonderful children and an amazing story to go along with it. Miss talking to you! Take care!

You and Fred are amazing, and I’m just as blessed to know you! Miss you too! Pumpkin Spice Forever!

  4. Excellent video post! It’s nice to hear your story as close to “in person” as possible. The thought process and God’s guidance throughout your journey is inspiring. Especially where you mentioned diving into parenthood with two teenage daughters!
I don’t feel so bad…two boys under age 5 is challenging enough, but you went for the gusto! Putting away toys, brushing teeth, and preventing tantrums is the extent of our parenting dilemmas!
However, like you guys, we wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Thanks, Scott! I can’t say enough times that this was God’s journey and not ours! The girls are so amazing, and we learn from them every single day…including how to deal with the dilemmas of putting away toys (albeit teenage toys like clothes and hair accouterments), and brushing teeth (or hair or eyelashes), and preventing tantrums!

  5. Love this!!! Thank you for sharing your story. Excited to see how God uses you both!!

It’s sure been quite a ride! God has called each of us to something unique, that’s for sure!!
