Time to Write

Writing is hard work.

We all see the memes floating around Facebook. The quotes about sitting at the keyboard and bleeding. The pretty words floating over a photo of a mountain cabin or an antique typewriter or a super-soft shot of a macbook and the most gorgeous latte art. Or lots of post-it notes.

But writing really is about discipline. It’s “butt glue.” Habit.

Good writing happens when you show up, day after day, with a solid routine, and you start pumping out words on the regular.

Pretend writing (and yeah, I fall into this trap all. the. time.) is when we hang out with other writers, maybe even helping them with their projects or encouraging them or advising or even coaching them, while our own writing stalls.

Pretend writing is spending our allocated writing time doing things that might be related to writing, but do nothing to propel us forward.

Finding time to write, especially when you’re writing around the fringes of life – a day job, kids, parents, the chaos of everything that happens in life….it’s hard.

You need time

So how do you find it? And how to you use what little time you have efficiently so that you can get the most out of it?

That’s what Time to Write is about.

The number one thing that stops writers from writing? Finding the time.

When you finish this book—which you should be able to do in less than an hour—you’ll find yourself writing every day. You’ll always have something to write about. And you’ll find yourself fitting in the things that help you grow exponentially faster and cutting out the things that look sexy but truly are a waste of time.

Why should you trust me on this?

Because I live it. Every day, I have to fight the temptation to “just pop into Facebook to check in” and “to watch the replay of that one really awesome webinar again” or to read one more book to inspire me.

You need to write

Do you have ideas that won’t leave you alone, if they wake you up at night and shove themselves into conversations? If you find yourself repeating yourself, answering the same questions over and over again, solving the same problems for new people?

You gotta write.

So let’s find you the space to get your words out into the world.

Time to Write is coming soon!

“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.” — Jim Rohn
